Professor Michael Denison to Speak on April 30
Cottey College cordially invites the public to attend a lecture in the Blanche Hinman Dow Honored Speaker Series on Wednesday, April 30, at 8 p.m. in the Missouri Recital Hall of the Haidee and Allen Wild Center for the Arts. This year’s honored speaker is Professor Michael Denison, associate professor of theatre and speech. His lecture is titled, “Boxes.”
The Blanche Hinman Dow Speaker award was established in 1965 by the Class of 1965 and was activated in 1987. Its purpose is to provide a forum in which a faculty member, elected by vote of the faculty as a whole, presents a lecture to the Cottey College community on a subject of his or her choice. The award is named in memory of Dr. Blanche Hinman Dow who was the sixth president of Cottey College, serving from 1949 to 1965.
A reception honoring Prof. Denison, who will retire at the end of the academic year, will be held immediately following the lecture in the Weber Foyer of the Center for the Arts.
The Center for the Arts is on the northeast corner of Austin and Tower streets in Nevada, Missouri.
