Chamberlin, Third in Speaker Series, to Speak on Nov. 19

Jean Chamberlin is the third speaker in the 2013-2014 Distinguished Speaker Series sponsored by Cottey College’s Institute for Women’s Leadership and Social Responsibility. She will speak on “Women’s Leadership in Aeronautics, Space, Security,and Defense” on Tuesday, November 19, at 7 p.m. in the Missouri Recital Hall inside the Haidee and Allen Wild Center for the Arts. A reception will follow the address. Chamberlin is the vice president of program manage­ment for Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS). Named to this position in 2013, Cham­berlin leads a team that pro­vides BDS program managers with best practices, processes, and tools throughout the pro­gram lifecycle. She also over­sees program management talent and leadership develop­ment through formal education and training, on-the-job/rota­tional experience, skills assess­ment, and succession planning. Chamberlin is also a pilot and aeronautical engineer who earned a master's degree in engi­neering management as a Sloan fellow at Stanford University, and an undergraduate degree from the University of Washington. The Center for the Arts is on the northeast corner of Austin and Tower streets in Nevada, Missouri.
