Comets 7-0 After Win Over Central Methodist JV
The Cottey College Comets kept their record unblemished on Friday night as they easily defeated the junior varsity of Central Methodist 99-75 in Fayette, Missouri.
The Comets took an 18-point lead into the break, 44-26, and were never really challenged in the game despite an offensive fireworks show from both teams in the second half. The Comets scored 55 points in the second frame while the Central Methodist jv tallied 49 of their own. In the end, though, the Comets were never really threatened.
Six Comets finished the game in double figures led by Dayna Turnbull's 20 points. Blaklee Sanders had a double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Other Comets with double figures in scoring were Kat Zumalt with 14 points, Petra Stankovic with 12 points, and Chelsey Rowland and Caryli Ingles with 11 points each.
The Comets, now at 7-0 on the year, have their last game of the semester on Thursday, December 13, at Ft. Scott Community College. That game against the Lady Greyhounds will tip off at 6 p.m.
There have been three changes to the spring schedule of games. Please note that the January 9 game vs. William Woods University has been cancelled. The game against Central Methodist College on January 23 has been rescheduled for January 22. The game against Hesston College on January 26 has been rescheduled for January 25.
