Photography Exhibit on Display
The photography of Mary Ann Soerries is currently on display in the P.E.O. Foundation Art Gallery of the Haidee and Allen Wild Center for the Arts at Cottey College. It will be exhibited through November 17.
Soerries specializes in nature portraits and is well known for her macro floral photographs which portray the beauty, grace, and harmony of nature. Her work has been used in interior designs in local hospitals, banks, and in private homes from coast to coast. Her work has appeared on two magazine covers in the Carolinas and has been used in numerous print materials at the former St. John’s Hospital of Joplin, Missouri.
Soerries says, “My work flows from a respect for nature and a love of flowers—a love I inherited from my mother.”
The Center for the Arts is on the northeast corner of Austin and Tower streets in Nevada, Missouri. The Gallery is open from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, and later on the evenings of performances.
