LETTERS HOME TO BE PERFORMED ON OCT. 26
Cottey College will present Letters Home on Friday, October 26, at 8 p.m. in the Auditorium of the Haidee and Allen Wild Center for the Arts.
Chicago’s Griffin Theatre production of Letters Home puts the current wars in Afghanistan and Iraq front and center by bringing to life actual letters written by soldiers serving in the Middle East. The play—without politicizing—gives audiences a powerful portrait of soldiers’ experiences in the ongoing war. These letters were written under the most difficult of circumstances; the disorientation of training, deployment, separation from family/loved ones, combat, and occupation duties in Afghanistan and Iraq. More importantly, the play reveals the humanity that lies within the war as seen through the eyes of the men and women fighting it.
Tickets for Letters Home are $8 for adults and $6 for those under age 18 or over age 62. Tickets will be available at the door the night of the show.
The Center for the Arts is located on the northeast corner of Austin and Tower streets in Nevada, Missouri.
Financial assistance for Letters Home has been provided by the Missouri Arts Council, a state agency.
