Cottey College Department of Theatre is pleased to present The Red Velvet Cake Wars

Cottey College Department of Theatre is pleased to present The Red Velvet Cake Wars, a play by Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope, and Jamie Wooten, on Friday and Saturday, October 5-6, in the Auditorium of the Haidee and Allen Wild Center for the Arts. The curtain will rise at 8 p.m. both evenings.

Things are never boring for the eccentric Verdeen cousins but eccentricities hit a new high when one of their own may be sent to an insane asylum.  A family reunion is just the beginning of trouble involving a quirky court psychiatrist, a one-eyed suitor, a perm gone wrong, a geriatric paramour, and a high stakes bet on who can make the best red velvet cake. Riotous mayhem ensues.

The play is directed by Dr. Rusalyn Andrews, and is produced in cooperation with Dramatists Play Service, Inc.

Tickets for The Red Velvet Cake Wars are $5 for adults and $4 for those under age 18 or over age 62. Tickets will be available at the door the nights of the performance.

The Center for the Arts is on the northeast corner of Austin and Tower streets in Nevada, Missouri.
